[manjaro-dev] sonar profiles don't speak

hi all
I've just successfully built and booted our mate profile. Whoever fixed 
it, thank you, thank you very very much. I've been tearing my hair out 
over months trying to fix it. I've now changed our login manager from 
lightdm to gdm for all profiles, since it seems lightdm was the problem. 
There's one other problem however. The sonar images are booting to the 
desktop, but they're not speaking. In fact, there seems to be no sound 
at all. I can adjust the volume with our shortcuts, control+windows+down 
and up arrow, and I hear the volume change sounds, but typing espeak hi 
in a terminal, which I usually do to check that sound is working, 
produces nothing. the orca, speech-dispatcher and espeak packages are 
included, so it's not that. Could it maybe be something in our desktop 
settings profile? I need to take a look at this, but I'm not sure what 
could've gone wrong. Sonar gnome also isn't logging in automatically but 
I can fix that. Do the build scripts handle auto-logging in now? There's 
an autologin config option in the profile.conf files, does that prompt 
the build scripts to automatically configure the dm, display manager, to 
log in as that user automatically?
