oh and btw, synergy allows me to have mouse+keyboard control, just the
regular mouse+keyboard doesn't work.

And to downgrade to fix it I basically did this (which may be specific
to my system, depending on conflicts, etc.):

cd /var/cache/pacman/pkg
pacman -R cgmanager-openrc consolekit-openrc
pacman -U openrc-core-0.18-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
*-openrc-20150611-1-any.pkg.tar.xz eudev-3.1.4-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
