[manjaro-dev] persistent lightdm issues in sonar profiles

hi all
I've brought this up a few times, so I'll not beat the same dead horse.
I'd like to switch the mate version of sonar to use the lightdm display
manager since it's lighter on resources and doesn't pull in lots of
gnome. But I can never get it working. Phil and bernhard and a couple of
you did a lot of excellent work and research, and eventually traced it
back to plymouth. However, I've seen that some of the manjaro profiles
use lightdm without problems. How are you guys doing it? I've copied
your configuration files, lightdm.conf, lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf, and
even profile.conf and modified them so that lightdm comes up speaking,
but it won't work in sonar profiles but will in manjaro. I'm stumped.
Would someone mind looking into this when you have time? There's no rush
at all, we've got at least a couple of months until the next sonar
version but I thought I'd better get an early start on this.
Thanks
Kendell Clark
