Hi Phil,

Thanks for you mail....yes I should also say that I really like
the XFCE version.....the layout is really great...right now
besides Windows 10 build 9926 I have the two linux systems
Manjaro 0.9 KDE and Korora 21 GNOME installed on my PC

You should consider telling the guys working on the GNOME
version of Manjaro that they should consider using the circular
numix icon theme from Korora 21 GNOME and combine it with
beautiful Manjaro wallpapers and the well known dark Manjaro
look and feel :-) - it would look really awesome.

Another thing you might consider is to take a look at the fonts
in Octopi of the KDE version....the small fonts are not very
sharp and a bit difficult to read and needs a sharp color I
think...You might consider using a larger and more black font
colour instead ??

Finally you should take a look at the Moun Software Center in
the upcoming Kubuntu 15.04 KDE Plasma version - I have been
thinking for a while if it would be possible to create a new
Package manager for Manjaro (named Manjaro Software Center or
App Store) inspired from this new Muon look.

My suggestion would be:

1) Develop a new easy-to-use default software manager named
Manjaro Software Center or (Manjaro App Store) for all your
desktop variants based on/inspired by the layout and source code
from the upcoming Kubuntu 15.04 Muon version. For example Muon
could be modified to work with Arch systems and have full AUR
support too. Would that be something worth considering ?

2) To still have an alternative more advanced software manager
you could merge Octopi with Pamac into just one package manager
still named Octopi, as they are very similar. Octopi is really
great.

It would be great to have two options for installing software -
the Muon based (default) and the merged Pamac/octopi
alternative

Just small things - everything stills works really great and it
is running extremely stable considering it is still a
development version

Kind Regards
Jesper

Hi Phil,

You are welcome :-)..I installed the latest version of
Manjaro 0.9 development version yesterday

I like this grey-green KDE5 plasma splash screen that
appears after logging in...and I also like the default
dark KDE look you have made

The slideshow in the Calamares installer also looks very
professional - I like that

I don't know about the fonts in the beginning (in KDE5
plasma splash screen) - maybe you should consider using a
more clear and modern font ?? I mean where you have typed
"Enjoy the Simplicity" and "Manjaro KDE")

is it KDM you are using as login manager ??

I haven't tried the Manjaro GNOME CE 0.9 yet - previously
when I used it there was no Manjaro logo in the GDM login
screen - only
the default GDM - Have you added such a logo in GDM now -
then maybe you might consider adding the Manjaro Logo ?
openSUSE, Fedora and Ubuntu GNOME have added their logo
and name in GDM below the password

You might also consider using the beautiful
black-grey-green flower artwork from the latest KDE
version (or another artwork) as background in GDM instead
of the default grey background :-) ?

Best
