        after an initial reboot issueing the command:-

        <div>revealed that the ufw.service is disabled which I presume
          is what is preventing ufw service from starting at boot. To
          fix this I issued the following command:-</div>

        <div>sudo ufw enable</div>

        </div>
        <div>And from then on, after rebooting ufw is active and is
          reported as so in gufw.</div>
